Each person is selected for their professional, caring and dedicated approach to childcare. All members of the team have a variety of qualifications including: Early Years Foundation Degree, level 2 or 3 childcare studies. Majority of staff are first aid trained, ensuring that each child’s health and safety is maintained at all times. All staff have at least level 1 safeguarding training and at least two staff members have safeguarding level 3. Additionally all staff have achieved ‘Prevent duty’ and ‘FGM’ training. All staff have knowledge of health and safety and at least staff members have up to date training of health & safety. Staff have training and knowledge in allergy awareness, SEND, Equality & Inclusion and also Behavioural management.
Most staff have extensive continued professional development training, this is further training and provides staff with skills, knowledge and experience beyond the initial training requirements. The Brentwood Day Nursery is committed to furthering the professional development of our staff team through ongoing and relevant training courses that support them further in their caring role.
Each child will be supported by a key person, who becomes the special person dedicated to developing secure friendships, meeting each child’s needs and working closely with parents.
Staff are supported by the owner and manager, both of whom have years of experience and expertise.
Our ratio of adults to children in the setting often exceeds the EYFS Welfare Requirements.
