Most staff regularly attend training in extended areas of Education, known as Continued Professional Development (CPD). This training provides staff with skills, knowledge and experience beyond the initial training requirements. The Brentwood Day Nursery is committed to furthering the professional development of our staff team through ongoing and relevant training, including in house courses, along with regular staff development appraisals, to support them further in their caring role.
We offer apprenticeship programmes to people wishing to carry out their childcare qualification in a work based environment. This provides opportunities for people wishing to follow a career in Early Years education and for the right candidate we will offer full time employment at the end of their successfully competed course.
Each child will be supported by a key person, who becomes the special person dedicated to developing secure friendships, meeting each child’s needs and working closely with parents. They are introduced to them before their first day, at the first settling in session. This ensures that they grow a close bond right from the start of their journey with us.
Staff are supported by the owner and manager, both of whom have years of experience and expertise.
Our ratio of adults to children in the setting often exceeds the EYFS Welfare Requirements.
