Our activities are based on the children’s interests and education/development needs. We also incorporate daily adult lead activities, to further build on children’s knowledge and understanding. This gives the ‘teacher’ the opportunity to explore the child’s learning in various areas, which helps to promote their learning and independence.
This gives you an overview of the layout of a typical day at our nursery. Occasionally unplanned events may occur requiring a change in the routine to make the most of the eventuality.
CHILDREN ENJOY THE ACTIVITES ON OFFER, INCLUDING;
Free flow play (indoor and outdoor): book corner, construction, small world play, home corner including dress up box, ICT equipment, writing and drawing, craft activities including painting, playdoh, and cooking, puzzles, children’s choice book, hygiene including tooth brushing
Musical communication activities: children are invited to take part in a drama based story or music and movement session.
Songs & Story time: Learning letter sounds through music or with visual aids. These activities promote turn taking and help build confidence.
Circle time / Phonics: Learning letter sounds through music or with visual aids. These activities promote turn taking and help build confidence. Feeling discussions will also take place.
Physical play and Outdoor Explorers: physical pursuits such as ride on toys, climbing frame, trampolining etc, these help promote fine and gross motor development
Extra curricular activities; our activities include French, Dance, Sports
